Introduction | Immaculate Conception Parish Cathedral & Minor Basilica
The Malolos Cathedral is one of the historical churches in the Philippines, located in the city, Bulacan. The construction of this church started in 1814 and was finished in 1817, under Fray. Melchor Fernández. Like most of the century-old churches in the country, this Cathedral was severely damaged by earthquakes. Today, it is the seat of the Diocese of Malolos and has been the bastion of faith for the past centuries.
On the left side of the church's facade is a centuries-old tree that is a living witness to many historic events that transpired on this hollowed plaza. It was planted by Pres. Aguinaldo during a lull in the historic Malolos Convention; it was when General Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy used this Cathedral's convent as Palacio Presidencial from September 10, 1898 to March 29, 1899 and hee transacted many affairs of states under the shade of this tree. Beside the bell tower of this historical structure is the tower of bells - bells that attract attention because of the its design, numbers and the brilliant gold color of it.

Take a Baliwag Bus bound for Malolos and alight at the Crossing. Then, ride in a tricycle to this church. The route passes by the Barasoain Church, Jose Conjuangco Mansion, and the Casa Real Shrine.
